“Something To Think About” B101.5FM Radio Message 8/30/16

Have you ever had or experienced a setback? You know – that moment when everything was moving along, things were seemingly working well, and all of a sudden – out of nowhere – bam –and you’re thrown right off the track. Yep – it’s a setback!

Now what? Well, only one way forward. Realize that with God, every setback, is really a set-up for your comeback! God sees all the work, time, and effort that you’ve invested, and He absolutely wants to see things get back on track. But there are a few things that need to be determined before moving forward.

God knows how to slow us down to get us looking around Click To Tweet

First, is God showing you something in the setback, that maybe you were missing? Something that was being over looked which perhaps would have proven to be detrimental later on? Take the time to carefully look into that possibility. God knows how to slow us down to get us looking around. He wants us to succeed!

Secondly, determine carefully whether or not what you’re doing is according to plans you have made without God, or plans you are moving in according to God’s will. God loves you and wants you to fully live and enjoy the life that he has given you. Many times a setback is God’s way of telling you to stop and re-evaluate your plans, thinking, and approach. There used to be a slogan for a soft drink: “Things go better with Coke” (maybe there still is) – Well, although a cool slogan, that is extraordinarily limited, to say the least. You can be sure that in life, and all that life encompasses, even including our death, “THINGS GO BETTER WITH GOD”!

And Thirdly, God is more interested in your life being on track, than anything you may be doing. If our lives are on track with Him, everything else will fall into place.

Seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” [Matthew 6:33]

If you have been suddenly slammed with a “setback”, just give God that setback, and the lead role, and you’ll be back on track in no time. God’s the best friend you’ll ever have in setbacks! Invite Him in right now, acknowledge Him as “first” in everything – and let’s get things moving forward!

Please reply back or leave a comment on how God used a “setback” in your life to help get you back on track.
