Integrity.

I recently had a young couple call me for prayer and counsel about a former landlord who was refusing to pay them back their security deposit. They never missed a payment, kept the place immaculate, finished their lease, and left the home in tip top condition. Now they can’t even get a return phone call. What a terrible situation, and yet, it sadly represents untold and similar scenarios taking place in our society every single day.

Rather than spending – or wasting – time, speaking about the where, when, and why’s, of people who are dishonest, let’s take a look at the blessing of God upon those who are committed to the principles of integrity:

‘Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.’ [Proverbs 10:9]

‘Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways,’ [Proverbs 28:6]

‘The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.’ [Proverbs 13:11]

‘The righteous who walks in his integrity – blessed are his children after him.’ [Proverbs 20:7]

 ‘For we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord’s sight, but also in the sight of man.’ [2^nd Corinthians 8:21] 

‘Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things.’ [Hebrews 13;18]

Whatever God has given you to do, do it with dignity, honesty, and integrity. It’s just simply the right thing to do – and God always honors – an honest heart.

‘A faithful man will abound with blessings..’[Proverbs 28:20]
