‘Something To Think About’ B101.5FM Radio Message – 2/8/16

Always go – the extra mile! Last month, after a major snow storm hit our area, I was shoveling snow for hours, I was tired and sore to the core. Finally, night time came, so I went inside, changed and got warm.

I went to take a look at my cell phone and I noticed a text from a Church member needing help shoveling his driveway so they could get to work the next day. Honestly, since the text was about two hours old, I was hoping when I called, it was done already. But that was not the case.

So I prayed, called a couple of brothers, and off we went. And I’m glad we did. Afterwards, the feeling of joy was overwhelming! Not only were we very glad to see the folks we were helping out, but there was a true and genuine supernatural increase of strength and fortitude while we were knocking out a huge bank of snow that had been piled up by many road plow drive bys. The two men who were helping with the endeavor also seemed to have an amazing and invigorated heart toward the task at hand.

During the project, I couldn’t help but think of the scripture that says: “And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.’ (Matthew 5:41).

At the cross, Jesus our Savior went the extra mile for us. Click To Tweet

With all that could be gleaned and learned from this scripture, and the fulfillment we inwardly feel when we actually walk in it, there is only one monumental truth that shouts loudly from the very heights of heaven. At the cross, Jesus our Savior went the extra mile for us. There will never be ‘An extra mile’ expression that could ever compare with that divine expression of sacrificial love. Although none of us will ever go an extra mile like that of our Savior, we can sure go each extra mile asked of us in order to express and demonstrate His heart – in us –toward others. God will always be there with us, supplying all we need to meet and complete the task at hand.

When you go the extra mile – God will always extra – bless you!

Share an extra mile experience with us. It will help inspire faith and love.
