This is always a very tough and unfair thing to have to endure. God’s word teaches us exactly what to do in these types of situations..

‘Commit your way to the Lord. Trust in Him and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day. Be still and wait patiently for Him. Psalm 37:4-5
