“Think On These Things” B101.5FM Radio Message 6/16/17

Thank God it’s Friday!

Well, some of us thank God it’s any day. Yes, today is the day that many hard working folks are glad to finally see arrive, because it is the last day of work before the weekend.

However, there are many who can also see today, and need to see today, as the very first day of the rest of your life! I say this because there are many who have lost the joy of life, and hope, and every day, let alone any one particular day just because it may be the last work day of the week. One of the reasons for this loss of hope and joy is the reality of past mistakes, the loss of loved ones, or deeply regrettable decisions.

The truth of the matter is, as it pertains to bad decisions and mistakes, we’ve all said and done things that we regret in our past. We could go over them in our minds again and again and they will still be subjected to this unchanging fact – they have been said, they have been done, and they are in the past. But those things do not have to negatively influence and govern our future. God has the power to take the facts of this life and cause them to pass away into the greater truth of His blessing and promises. The good news is – God has promised all of us a new beginning if we place our faith, hope, and trust in Him. Only the power of God is able to take a life with tragedies and regrets, and turn it into a future filled with joy, hope, and victory. He does this because He loves us, and only He can do it because, He – is God.

“In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.” [Jonah 2:2]

No matter where you are or what you have done, God the Lord has the sovereign power to help you, bless you, forgive you, and rescue you from the hardships, regrets, and torments of the past. In God, today and everyday can be the best day, of your life!
