Does God still answer prayer today? This is a question that is on the minds and hearts of many people. There is a school of thought out there today that infers that God does in fact exist, but He has removed himself from any interaction with human beings, their day to day affairs, and their destiny. But nothing could be so completely further from the truth. This type of mindset comes from those who may have asked God in their own lives for something that would only suit ‘their personal agenda’, or, ‘ambitions’. When God did not give them what they selfishly wanted, they responded with this ridiculous theory. Thank God the goodness and power of God is not subjected to, or relegated to, the spoiled theories and insinuations of the few.

If you ask those who ‘genuinely’ believe in God, love His word, and follow Him daily, (in the multiple millions), their answer, across the board would be “Yes! Absolutely Yes!” And, they could give you undeniable proof of the Power of God operating in response to their prayers. Jesus said it best:

“All things are possible to those who believe.” [Mark 9:23].

Please notice the word says ‘believe’ – not ‘demand’.

Knowing God answers prayer does not, nor will it ever come from those who ‘never received’ all the little toys and favors asked for by the disgruntled, self centered and self absorbed. Knowing God answers prayer comes from the beauty of sincere, authentic testimony and victorious evidence flowing out of the lives and hearts of those who still fear God with a Holy and awesome reverence. God delights in blessing His people. But this is the key to answered prayer, and the daily knowledge of ‘knowing’ God answers prayer. It is being among His people, acknowledging that we belong to His Kingdom, and declaring faith in God and a daily desire and commitment to follow Him and serve Him. There is no loss for words, phony words, or made up stories among those who are counted among the people of God.

The question is valid. Does God still answer prayer today? Among God’s people the answer is immediate and equally valid – and that answer is “Yes, absolutely – Yes!”
