New Life/Old Life Road Sign

‘Something To Think About’ B101.5FM Radio Message 5/17/16

Many people familiar with our ministry have asked me over the years, “How have you had such tremendous success with those who have been bound by addictions and life controlling issues?”

I tell them – “It’s not about changing something old, but about becoming something new.” God’s word tells us:

When a person is in Christ he is a new creation, the old things pass away and all things become new.  [2nd Corinthians 5:17]

This is one of the most profound statements, and truths, ever found in the entire word of God. Jesus went to the cross to cancel out everything that ever happened before it. The fall and ruin of man, sin, including it’s negative and damaging effects upon humanity and the earth, including the power of death. He came to reclaim and make new all that was lost on that dreadful day in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve acted outside of God’s will, allowing the deceit and trickery of the enemy to corrupt their hearts and separate them from God.

When a person places their faith in Jesus, they are saying: “I no longer want to live according to all that took place, and its effects upon life, prior to the cross. I do not want that attitude and bondage in ‘my’ life. I do not want to live under the limitations of my mere humanity and human resolve, or will power. I want to flow and grow with God and tap in to all He has made available to me in newness of life and the unconquerable power of His Holy Spirit. I want to follow Him in simple faith and let Him make all things new for me, my family, and my future. I do not seek a ‘repaired’ life, or a ‘renovated’ life – I seek the ‘new’ life that Christ purchased for me with His own blood on that cross. I have decided to live in and from, the victory of the cross ‘forward’, not live under the ‘previous’ loss and rebellion. I want the old things to pass away, and all things to become new.”

Do not seek a ‘repaired’ life, seek the ‘new’ life that Christ made available on the cross. Click To Tweet

The new man desires the things of God, not the things of this world. The new man lives according to the realm and reality of the Spirit of God, not the realm and reality of the flesh and the natural life. The old man craves the world, sin, drugs, alcohol, etc., the new man craves the life, joy, love, and freedom of the presence and kingdom of God.

‘In Christ’ the old is gone, the new has come. The new – is better!
