‘Something to Think About’ B101.5FM Radio Message – 4/8/16

Jigsaw Puzzles! Some people just love jigsaw puzzles and they are great at them. Well, not me, unless its the 5-year-old level and the whole puzzle is 10 total pieces, and each piece is at least a foot long, and a foot wide.

In a way, life can be seen as an amazing, intricate, beautiful, and multi-piece jigsaw puzzle. When you see one of those thousand plus piece size puzzles, it’s almost impossible to know where to begin. They say that the best way is to find all the corners and the straight sides and begin the frame, then work your way in. Some may do it this way, and some may approach it differently. Either way, it can be a very daunting task, but once completed, you see the ‘fullness’ of this beautiful picture that is the culmination of all the small pieces finally being fit together.

Before our life ever began, God saw our entire lifetime, right up until the end. Click To Tweet

It is important to know that God sees all the complex and intricate pieces of our lives. And He knows precisely where each piece fits, and exactly when to put them in place. From the very moment we were conceived in the womb, that was the first piece, waiting to be joined together by the hand of God with the second piece and so on. Amazingly enough, with God, He saw the whole picture of our lives even before the world began:

For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. [Ephesians 1:4]

There are many days where we wonder how this particular piece could ‘ever possibly’ fit in to the picture. We ask God, “Why did this have to happen”, or, “Why did this day ever have to take place?” “How does any of this fit?” But God tells us something wonderful that brings encouragement and blessing:

I make known the end from the beginning.  [Isaiah 46:10]

Before our life ever began, God saw our entire lifetime, right up until the end. He saw it in fullness, each and every day, each and every year, even, each and every moment. He saw the sins we would commit, the mistakes we would make, the times we would laugh, and cry, including the difficult things that would happen in our lives. He saw the choices and decisions we would make, both the good ones and the bad ones. He even saw where others did wrong things to us, or against us. He then made sure that all these things would work together for our good:

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.  [Romans 8:28]

The unfolding development and ultimate fullness of our lives is certainly not at the five year old level. Life is complex, and carries a tremendous amount of significance and responsibility. Loving God, and accepting His love for us, provides the greatest possible joy, peace, hope, and blessing for each and every day. Give all the pieces of your life to Him, and trust Him.
