Jesus knocking on a door

‘Something To Think About’ B101.5FM Radio Message – 4/5/16

God is interested in your prayers today, and He wants to respond. Think of it this way, have you ever sent a text or letter to someone and said at the end, “No need to reply?” Well, in many circumstances there is certainly nothing wrong with that.

However, when it comes to speaking with God, He wants us to not only talk to Him, but to most definitely ‘expect’ – a reply. Jesus said, ask ‘anything’ in My name, and I will do it for you, seek, and you shall find – knock and the door shall be opened to you. You can see in His vocabulary that every move we make toward God, results in a reply, or a response from Him. He even said that if we drew near to Him, He would draw near to us.

Talking with God is never a one sided conversation. Click To Tweet

Talking with God is never a one sided conversation. God enjoys, desires, and seeks fellowship with us. Jesus also said:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and him with Me” [Revelation 3:20]

Now the God who created the unending universes, the heavens and the earth, and all that is and was, and ever will be, by the words of His mouth, will certainly have lots to talk about when we dine together. You can be sure He will not be at a loss for words. And all that He says to us, flows from His unending, unfailing love for us. Let’s face it, that’s the kind of conversation and experience we ought to be desiring and requiring, every day of our lives.

Also, God speaks in may ways. Primarily through His word [The Bible], by His Holy Spirit, including songs, messages, godly counsel etc. The key to having this supernatural truth become a reality in your life, is to be in a daily relationship with God. One of the names for Jesus is that He is ‘The Word’. As we approach God through His Word, (His Son Jesus), He then responds to us by His Word. Speaking of Jesus, God teaches us:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.’ [John 1:1-2]

Talk to God today. Tell Jesus you believe in Him, and you know that He died for your sins, and rose from the grave. Tell him all that is in your heart and on your mind. Then wait patiently for His response. He will not let you down.

  1. Pastor Dave, my topic is when a person dies in Christ are they asleep until the resurrection or are they immediately in the presence of the Lord? Thank you so much your daily word truly ministers to my spirit. God’s Love Never Fails… Beverley
