Monday morning blues?

‘Something To Think About’ B101.5FM Radio Message – 1/25/16

There’s a term called ‘The Monday Morning Blues’

It tries to suggest we won’t be at our best and probably wont get much done because we’re either bummed out that the weekend’s over – or – another WORK week is about to begin. Perhaps you have felt these Monday Morning Blues before. Or if you’re reading this on a Monday, even today. Even the best cup of morning coffee didn’t help.

I know we have all had a difficult time waking up on that Monday morning and facing another work week. It’s very normal to miss the weekend that just went by, and start looking forward to that weekend that is coming. For sure, one of the things that contributes to the ‘Monday Morning Blues’ is that the upcoming weekend seems 100 years away. Either way, this particular topic gives us a chance to examine a couple of things that are quite profound as it pertains to the divine ability and power of God.

Think of it, you, AND GOD, and one day. Click To Tweet

Check this out – if we remember that Monday, the first day of the week, is the day that God began to create the Heavens and the Earth, we very quickly realize the possibilities are both endless, and exciting. Have you ever taken the time to think about what we are actually capable of doing if we are operating in faith? If God was able to do all that He did on that ancient Monday, and I’m sure without any blues whatsoever, just allow your heart to dwell for a few moments on what He is still wanting to do through you, on every Monday, and every day of your life. Think of it, you, AND GOD, and one day.

Peter told us: “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day.” [2nd Peter 3:8].

This tells us many important things about the Lord, and ourselves, as we flow in a relationship with God. One of them is at the very least, God is able to accomplish in one day, what would take all of humanity to accomplish in one thousand years. Well, He is able to accomplish in the blink of an eye what would take all of us an eternity to even begin, but the point is clear. When we live our lives, including our Mondays, with God at the helm, we come to a great conclusion, and even greater experiences – Monday Morning Blues, No Way! How about Monday Morning Miracles!
